Day 3- Our Savior Reigns

Today was such an impactful day, in the children's lives' our lives' and I'm sure even the workers here at the camp!

To start off the day, we began with a devotion about complaining. We have been diligently working on cleaning the pond out, painting the basketball court, and more! With these tasks at hand and it being so incredibly hot, it caused me to complain. The devotion was roughly giving us reasons why Jesus didn't complain therefore why we shouldn't complain. After that we got back to work!

As the day continued we heard some great testimonies from numerous people, that have planted seeds in the people's heart's. That could lead to a life changing decision, of accepting Christ as there Savior and Lord. We've been praying for all the workers and children here, and I invite you to do so also, because prayer works!

We saw just a glimpse of how incredible our Savior is, after Pastor Tibor shared the Gospel with the children this evening, Laci did a salvation invitation for all the children, and seeing so many kids stand up from there seats and gather on stage to represent that they have just put their trust in God. It brought tears to many of us while the band sang a beautiful song with such inspiring words that represent the journey of giving up your life for a never ending Love to take over!

Seeing all of this at the end of the day is breath taking and purely shows how our Savior reigns! We could feel the glory of the Lord shining and working in that room!

We have a few prayer requests, that we invite you to pray for!
-Many of the workers here are getting sick, from a cold virus going around. so just lift them up in prayer.
-All the children that gathered on that stage and gave their life to Jesus! That they will stand strong and continue to grow in their faith.
-Also the people that weren't quite ready to accept Christ, and that God will continue to work in their lives'. And they will realize they cant go on with life by themselves, it just wont work.
-for safety and a great time!1

Day 2 (Monday)

Today was a very fun day for our group! We got to help clean out the dirty lake, which was actually a little fun once you got used to the smell and the feel of the algae and the vines. But for me personally, I got to meet an amazing little boy. His name is Matthew, he is 7 years old, and he was in the class I was teaching for English. He has four brothers and sisters, and he's the smallest one. While I was helping teach, I noticed his mom was with him in the group. The more I watched him, I realized he was a little bit mentally disabled. His thoughts didn't come out as quickly as others. I started talking to his mom, and he soon came up and started slowly talking. Matthew is honestly the sweetest boy, even if his mental ability is slower than others. His mom had me take him to the cafeteria, and he talked and talked. One thing that God had taught me through that experience is that anyone can influence you at anyone, and in my case, it was through an awesome 7-year-old boy.

Day 1 (Sunday)

We are in Hungary! We've been preparing for this day for months, but not any amount of preparation could make us ready for these 10 days. Here's what the Lord has done so far:

We have had some bumps along the road so far, but our God is amazing and works crazy awesome things in our lives in crazy awesome ways. We missed our flight from Paris to Budapest, but God provided seats on different planes for everyone. 7 people had to stay the night in Paris, but God gave us enough money to pay for a hotel room.  We thought that the last 3 people wouldn't make it Budapest until Sunday evening, but God provided seats on a plane for everyone and we all got here before the kids did!

We have been getting to know the campers today and even through the language barrier, God's been working and I am so excited to see what He does the rest of the week in our lives and the campers'.

Worship Concert and Fundraising

Hi!

Our recent worship concert went wonderfully, with many coming together to sing praise to our God. It was a beautiful night. 4 different bands, including the CalStuMi Band, led worship. During the evening, we held a love offering to help raise the remaining funds for our upcoming trip to Hungary. The night began with a need of $2,100, and ended with an amazing work of God. We had a huge amount of money to raise as a group in such a short amount of time, but our God is bigger than our money problems, and He gave us everything we needed plus more! Our fundraising is complete, tickets are being bought, and God is revealing His plans for us in amazing ways.

Thank you for the prayers! We appreciate each of them.

What I've learned so far!- Team Member Lauran

Do Not Be a Worrier instead be a Warrior for God
How I keep calm with what is to come!

I'm super excited and privileged to be able to go to Hungary and share God's love and Gospel with the children at the Hungary Word of Life youth Sport's camp this Summer!

I know that through steadfast prayer, faith and trust, this trip will not only change my life forever but the children at that camp live's too!

Some things that our mission's team has been working on is how to work as a team because without a doubt that is definitely something we will need to make this trip work! We will all have to work as a team and have God as our Leader! If we try doing this without God our team and this trip will completely crumble! God has to be our top thing on this Journey!

Something I have the most trouble with is worrying, I'm the type of person that "needs" to know how everything is going to happen and turn out, but obviously that is just a fantasy and I can't possibly know how everything will go because it is all up to God! But when I get worried and anxious about things I have to stop and say to myself-

*2 Corinthians 5:7 For we will walk by faith, and not by sight.

I also pray because it reminds me that if I'm stressing I'm trying to do everything by myself and that isn't going to work!

*Philippians 4:6-7 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

So my goal with this trip is to put my worrying to rest and fully rely on God, Because He will lead me and all I need to do is trust and follow Him!

Keep faith and God Bless,

Excitement

This is very exciting for me, that God has given me the opportunity to lead these students on this trip.  I am excited to see all that the Lord is going to do, in my heart and relationship with him, the student’s hearts and also in the hearts of the children at the Word of Life Camp in Hungary.  In my younger days, I had been on a couple different short term mission trips and one long term mission.  They were fun and exciting trips that were challenging on both the spiritual and physical aspects.  There were times of joy and being goofy and there were other times of crying and comfort. As I prepared for those trips, the preparation was quite a bit different than this trip.  For those trips, I was not the leader.  I was just one going on the trip.  Sure, there was a lot of prayer involved, writing support letters, and so forth, but I was only responsible for me.  This time around, I am responsible for 15 other people.  I absolutely love the task at hand though, knowing that I cannot do it on my own!  I pray that the Lord gives the leaders and myself wisdom in leading the students, not just on the trip, but wisdom in leading them to the throne of Jesus!  For His Glory!

Pasta Dinner

Our Pasta Dinner & Silent Auction went great!

Many thanks to all of the parents and siblings that volunteered their time and effort to help the team with this dinner!

And thank you to everyone who came, bought dinner, bid on a piece in the auction, and donated money to the trip! We truly are so grateful!

Our next fundraiser will be coming in March, so stay tuned!
